Financial Assistance

At the Lorain County Veterans Service Commission, we’re dedicated to supporting Veterans and their families through comprehensive financial assistance programs to help prevent Veteran Homelessness. Life’s challenges can sometimes create unexpected financial burdens, and our goal is to help eligible Veterans maintain stability, independence, and peace of mind during difficult times.

We offer several forms of assistance to address a wide range of needs – from essential living expenses to healthcare costs. Each program has specific eligibility requirements and an application process designed to ensure funds are distributed fairly and efficiently.

Types of Financial Assistance

Hardship Financial Assistance

Temporary financial aid may be available for veterans or their surviving spouses who demonstrate a need. Support may cover essential expenses such as rent, mortgage, property taxes, utilities, car payments, insurance, food, and personal items.
