The Lorain County Veterans Service Commission is committed to helping Veterans manage the rising costs of essential healthcare. We understand that even with insurance, many Veterans face out-of-pocket expenses that can quickly add up. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help cover certain medical, dental, or vision expenses not paid by insurance.
Eligible Expenses May Include
MEDICAL
Out-of-pocket medical procedure or appointment costs
DENTAL
Dental treatments not covered by insurance
VISION
Vision exams, glasses, or related vision care
To qualify, all bills must:
- Be less than one year old from the date of the application
- Not be in collections
- Total at least $100 in expenses
You must include receipts if reimbursement is requested for payments made within the last 90 days.
Dental Care Assistance
If you need dental care, we have memorandums of understanding with several dentists in the local area to provide services to eligible Veterans. Before starting treatment, you must:
- Obtain a dental treatment plan from a participating provider.
- Submit an application and the treatment plan for one of our Financial Assistance Investigator’s (FAI) approval prior to receiving services.
- Once approved and treatment is completed, payment is made directly to the dental office that provided the care.
This ensures timely support and removes the financial stress during your treatment.
